Signature Annual Events

Catholic Charities Gala

Catholic Charities holds this annual event to raise money to provide help and create hope for the hundreds of thousands of people a year we serve through more than 50 programs.

The 2023 gala will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Marriott Marquis.

Catholic Charities Legal Network Golf Tournament

For almost 20 years, an annual golf tournament has supported the pro bono legal services the Catholic Charities Legal Network provides to low-income people.

In the Name of the Mother Golf Outing

The In the Name of the Mother charity golf outing is an event organized by donors that provides crucial funding to help mothers battling cancer in crisis.

The fund was established in 2005 by Kevin McConville and his family and friends to honor Megan McConville, Kevin’s wife, who passed away from cancer in November 2004. The mission of “In the Name of the Mother” is to provide financial aid to mothers diagnosed with cancer, based on the principle that no mother undergoing cancer treatment should have to worry about how to keep food on her family’s table or how to keep her children safe and cared for. The money provided by “In the Name of the Mother” has provided financial assistance for rent, utilities, house cleaning, medical needs, food, wigs and specialty clothes.

Catholic Charities’ special groups and societies provide a variety of ways to get involved, connect with other service-minded neighbors and make a difference in the community.

83.33 Society

Catholic Charities’ 83.33 Society is a social investment in the Washington, D.C. community by some of the area’s top emerging leaders.

Members of the 83.33 Society are committed to serving those in need by sharing their talents, time, and treasures. They make a difference through a collaboration of volunteerism, mentorship, education and philanthropy. For more information, visit the 83.33 Society web page.


Enzler Society

The Enzler Society is a group of young individuals, ages 21-35 years old, who are dedicated to raising awareness about Catholic Charities’ mission and vital work as the most comprehensive nonprofit social services agency in the Washington, D.C., region through volunteer services and community networking. President’s Council

The President’s Council is a distinguished and caring group of business and community leaders from a variety of fields in the Washington, D.C., area. The group meets about three times a year to provide Msgr. John J. Enzler with support and insight in his role as president and CEO of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington.
