For more than 30 years, the Southern Maryland Food Bank and Outreach Services have been helping to fight hunger in our community. Our primary mission has been to supply emergency food to nearly 30 food pantries operating in Charles, St. Mary’s and Calvert counties.
In response to the growing hunger needs of the community, the Southern Maryland Food Bank also manages several programs that include; a local food pantry, a community garden and the delivery of healthy groceries to at risk children and senior citizens.

Food Bank for Suppliers: Weekly, we provide bulk food items for pantries, shelters, soup kitchens and group homes in Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary’s Counties. As the local affiliate of Feeding America, we are part of the Maryland Food Bank Network. Please call today to enroll.
Snack Sak Program: We partner with area schools to provide backpacks filled with food for students who may not have access to regular meals over the weekend. To learn more or see if your school could partner, give us a call.
Senior Sak Program: We work in collaboration with local retirement and senior-living communities to deliver grocery bags to seniors who live on limited incomes. Call us if you want to donate to help put food on the table for seniors or if you know of seniors who could benefit from our program.
Meals & Hope Food Truck: Serving food to those in need, meeting people where they are and providing them with nourishing meals and fellowship; without prejudice. We strive to provide the best meal choices and use the very best business practices, possible, to assist those in crisis.
