Immigration Legal Services
Immigration Legal Services, a part of Catholic Charities’ Newcomer Network, provides direct legal immigration services to foreign-born individuals and their families.
About the Program
Immigration Legal Services works with cases that range from consultations to full representation. The program has represented individuals from more than 135 countries who needed legal assistance with an immigration matter. The program also trains lawyers to provide pro bono services and educates community groups on the latest immigration issues.
Important Warning: Scam Alert
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington (CCADW) has been made aware of individuals falsely claiming to be our attorneys or staff and contacting immigrants through WhatsApp and other messaging platforms, including Facebook. These scammers may request personal information or money.
While CCADW has an immigration legal services program:
- We will never solicit clients or initiate contact through WhatsApp or similar apps.
- We only reach out to individuals who have contacted us first or who have been referred to us, or who already have an open case with our office.
- We will never ask for personal information through text or messaging apps.
If you receive a suspicious message from someone claiming to be from our organization, do not respond. Instead, please call our intake line at 240-858-0958 Mondays 1-5 pm, Wednesdays 3-7 pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 am-1 pm to verify whether the communication is legitimate.
Your safety and trust is of utmost importance to us.

We strive to offer our pro bono attorneys all the resources and mentorship required for successful outcomes. We offer training and Q&A sessions to ensure attorneys are able to keep up to date.
