Do More on May 17 and Support Catholic Charities’ Angel’s Watch Shelter

by Alexandra Porben | May 8, 2023

On May 17, Catholic Charities is participating in the 11th Annual “Do More 24,” the largest 24-hour online fundraiser in Washington D.C., providing an opportunity for those in the area to “do more” for their community. Powered by United Way of the National Capital Area, Do More 24 gives Catholic Charities an opportunity to ask for support of our Angel’s Watch shelter and other housing programs across the D.C. region.

The Angel’s Watch shelter provides shelter and hope for individuals fleeing domestic violence or homelessness. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the shelter also provides case-management services such as budgeting and life skills workshops, and counseling services.

In the last fiscal year, 233 adults and children found shelter at Angel’s Watch. Additional contributions are needed to continue to provide a place of refuge and hope for adults and children. This year, our goal is to raise $24,000, which will provide warm and nutritious meals for two months to our Angel’s Watch residents.

Join us on May 17 and help Catholic Charities reach our fundraising goal by using our donation page to contribute to housing services and spreading the word on social media by tagging @CCADW and including #DoMore24.
