The Next Generations of Giving

Catholic Charities’ 83.33 Society is a social investment in the Washington area community by some of the area’s top emerging leaders.

Members of the 83.33 Society are redefining philanthropy by sharing their talents, time and treasures to serve those in need. They make a difference through a collaboration of philanthropy, volunteerism and fundraising.

By participating in networking and volunteer opportunities, they increase awareness of the issues facing D.C. and surrounding Maryland counties and lead by example in how those in the community can be agents of change.

Become a monthly sustainer as part of the 83.33 Society. As an annual benefit of joining the 83.33 Society, you will have access to volunteer opportunities, networking events and other special opportunities.

Here’s how your donation can have an impact:

Immigrant families flee gang, domestic and gender violence every day. They arrive in this country seeking a better path for themselves and their children. As hard as the journey can be, it pales in comparison to what they have left behind. Many families seek the assistance of our Immigration Legal Services. Case managers help to distribute school supplies such as backpacks, pencils, notebooks, and water bottles to the children as they plan to start at a new school. Your annual contribution is equivalent to providing Education Packs for 13 children per year.

The need for preventive, quality dental care in Washington, DC’s community is pervasive and largely unmet. Through our Dental Clinics we serve uninsured patients, providing preventive and acute dental services with the help of staff dentists, hygienists, and pro bono volunteers. In 2022, 4,152 people received dental care through our various clinics. Your annual contribution is equivalent to providing comprehensive oral exams for about 45 patients per year.

The Snack Sak program in Southern Maryland allows us to focus on the filling the gap of hunger on the weekends, when school meals are not available. We do this by providing 22 items (6 family meal items and 16 snack items) each week from October to June of the school year. Easy to open and ready to eat items are packed weekly for students, selected to be in the program. Students are chosen by the school staff based on the information available concerning the students’ current situation. This program has proven to offer far more then food, we offer hope to children that are living in crisis and homeless situations. Your annual contribution is equivalent to providing 8 children with Snack Saks for an entire year.
