The odds are often against teen parents and their children. We work closely with teen parents to help provide opportunity for growth, to ensure each child reaches his or her potential and move toward a safe and stable future for the young family. Our program focuses on stable housing, stable employment and lifelong skills. The program serves youth and their children in Washington, DC, and Maryland.

Services

Washington, DC, Intake:  Enrollment in the program comes through referral from the DC Child and Family Services Agency. Open to all teen parents between the ages of 18 and 20 years old, as well as their children.

Maryland Intake:  Enrollment in the program comes through referral from the local Department of Social Services. Open to all teen parents between the ages of 16 and 20 years old as well as their children.

The goal of the program is to help each youth and his or her child transition out of the foster care system with stable housing. All youth in the program will have the opportunity to secure their own apartment with our support in locating a home and paying rent each month. Youth and their children will receive one-on-one case management, daily living skills such as budgeting, healthy eating and proper workplace conduct. We also hold specialized parent training sessions.
