Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Program
Community Walks - Every walker counts!
Did You Know? This year there is no main Help-the-Homeless Walk on the National Mall.
Yet there is still a great need to help support homeless shelters.
You, your parish, or your school can help Catholic Charities by registering for one of our Community Walks listed below. Registration fee is $30 for adults, $20 for youth and includes a t-shirt and refreshments on the day of the walk!
Walkathons have been taking place throughout the archdiocese - thanks everyone for your support! View photos from our events here and keep checking back for updates!

The Archdiocesan Mass and Walk - Saturday, October 6 at 9:00am
Join Catholics from parishes across the Archdiocese of Washington along with residents and staff from Catholic Charities’ Housing programs for a Mass and Walk to end homelessness. The Archdiocesan Walk takes place on the campus of Catholic University. The day starts with Mass in St. Vincent’s Chapel at 9:00am, then everyone will make their way over to the stadium next door to begin the Walk. Cider and donuts will be served!

Prefer to walk at another time? Plan a walk for the day and time that works for your parish or school. You can walk around your parish, the neighborhood, or plan a different activity altogether: pick-up trash, rake leaves for people who can’t, put together food baskets, whatever you like!
Every night, Catholic Charities provides more than 1,500 beds for men, women and children who need a warm place to stay. Walking for Catholic Charities will help support these housing programs that work with these families and individuals who need a place to call home.
If we reach our goal of 4,000 walkers by November 4, 2012, Fannie Mae will give Catholic Charities an additional $50,000 to support our work with the homeless!
