Jenny Cachaya, LOPC Program Coordinator and BIA Accredited Representative
Jenny Cachaya, a Board of Immigration Appeals Accredited Representative with Catholic Charities since October of 2011, coordinates the DOJ-funded Legal Orientation Program for Custodians (LOPC), which provides educational presentations to custodians of unaccompanied minors. In addition, she represents clients before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on various matters, including minors on petitions for Special Immigrant Juvenile status, U/T visas, affirmative asylum and Lawful Permanent Residency. Her knowledge and experience led El Pregonero to publish Jenny’s articles on immigration law and she was also one of the panelists at the Maryland Partners for Justice 2014 conference. Before working at Catholic Charities and while going to college in California, Jenny, herself an immigrant from Colombia, worked with migrant families and advocated on behalf of immigrant children in foster care.
The generous support of Maryland Legal Services Corporation, Montgomery County, MD, and individual and law firm donors enables our Immigration Legal team to continue to offer in-depth comprehensive services to our clients. Thank you on our behalf and on behalf of the immigrants we serve.
