Cecilia “Paula” Deza, Attorney
Cecilia “Paula” Deza is a staff attorney at Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington. Since coming to Catholic Charities in November 2015, she has represented unaccompanied children in immigration proceedings as a Justice AmeriCorps Fellow. Now, she represents a diverse caseload on a variety of immigration matters from asylum and other humanitarian relief to citizenship. Before coming to Catholic Charities, Paula had returned to the practice of law representing clients in family and misdemeanor criminal matters at a small law firm. Paula is a 1995 graduate of Catholic University, Columbus School of Law and worked as a corporate attorney in Washington, DC for several years. Paula also worked with the Spanish immigrant community as a Spanish language court interpreter and translator. She is a federally certified court interpreter and is barred in DC and Maryland.
