Allison Norris, Supervising Attorney, Immigration Legal Services

Allison Norris joined Catholic Charities as a staff attorney in August 2020. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Miami in 2012 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2015. A native Floridian, Allison began her career as an immigration attorney representing unaccompanied minors in and out of the Office of Refugee Resettlement custody at Americans for Immigrant Justice in Miami. Most recently, Allison held an endowed position as the Toll litigation staff attorney at Americans for Immigrant Justice, where she used federal impact legislation to better the lives of immigrants. She brought federal lawsuits on behalf of children unlawfully detained in ICE custody, sued the government to fight unnecessary and deadly detention during COVID-19, and sought compensation for children and their parents separated at the border. Allison handles a wide variety of immigration matters at Catholic Charities, specializing in asylum and removal defense. Allison is a member of the Florida Bar and is fluent in Spanish.
