Alicia M. de la O, Staff Attorney

Alicia M. de la O joined Catholic Charities as a staff attorney in February 2021. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Florida State University in 2009 and a Juris Doctor from the St. Thomas University School of Law in 2015. A native Floridian, she began her career as a family law attorney in Miami and later worked as an immigration attorney at Catholic Legal Services in Miami, representing unaccompanied minors released from detention. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, she traveled to the Tijuana-San Ysidro border to volunteer at Al Otro Lado and participated in a weekend-long migrant protection protocols clinic. A member of the Florida and D.C. Bars, she is an active member of the American Immigration Law Association and the Cuban American Bar Association.
