“A super cold Saturday morning had me huddling to stay warm while waiting for volunteer teams to arrive. A shelter resident offered to share his blanket with me as he thought I looked colder than him. Service is giving and receiving.” ~Dianne, Hope Corps Volunteer since 2017
What Is Hope Corps?
Hope Corps Volunteer Leaders are Catholic Charities’ super-volunteers who commit to leading a volunteer project each month for one year. Every month, the 34 members in the 2019 Hope Corps cohort host 2 shelter clean ups, 2 job readiness classes, 4 game nights, 12 St. Maria’s Meals events, 2 SHARE days, and a Cup of Joe Bagging event.
How to Get Involved?
“I decided to volunteer with Catholic Charities because they have many volunteer programs in different locations, which makes it easy to find a volunteer experience that works for me. But more importantly, their mission to help our fellow citizens who are in need resonated with me, and as a Catholic myself, the choice was easy.”
~Suhail, Hope Corps Member since 2018
