IRAs
Qualified charitable distributions, made through your Individual Retirement Account (IRA), are an attractive way to make a gift. By using this option, you can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution for the year.
Check with your IRA administrator on whether you can request a qualified charitable distribution through their website, by telephone, or in writing. A sample letter is available for download and can be used to instruct your IRA administrator.
Please notify Kevin Daly of Catholic Charities (202-772-4313) of your intention so we can ensure your gift is properly credited and acknowledged.
Donor-advised funds
Catholic Charities welcomes gifts from several sources, including through donor-advised funds. By recommending Catholic Charities to receive a grant through your donor-advised fund, you directly impact those in need.
Did you know that the final distribution of contributions remaining in your donor-advised fund after your lifetime can be designated when you create or update your fund?
We hope you will consider naming Catholic Charities as a beneficiary of your charitable giving fund. You may even designate Catholic Charities to receive a portion of the account value, leaving the remaining portion for your children or grandchildren to continue your legacy of philanthropy.
Please notify Kevin Daly of Catholic Charities (202-772-4313) of your intention so we can ensure your gift is properly credited and acknowledged.
Wire transfers
Please contact Catholic Charities at the time of the transfer to let us know the amount of the transfer and the name and address of the donor(s). This allows us to send an acknowledgment and receipt.
Contact Sean Wood at 202-772-4330 to request wire transfer instructions.
