Join the 2017 Prevent Cancer 5k Walk/Run and Health Fair on Sunday, November 5 at Nationals Park and along the beautiful Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. This annual event is hosted by the Prevent Cancer Foundation®, the only U.S. nonprofit organization solely devoted to cancer prevention and early detection. The Foundation invites you to come out for a day of exercise, free screenings and education, and fun for the whole family.
The Prevent Cancer Foundation is one of our longest funding partners at our Catholic Charities medical clinics. Annually we participate in the 5k, bringing clients and staff together taking a stand to prevent cancer. Last year we had 35 patients and 20 staff participate. We dedicated our efforts to Livia Amezcua, Director of Dental Services who lost her battle with cancer in July. This year we are walking for other staff… and friends and family members. We have a lot of passion! Please consider joining us!
