2020 Circle of Hope Reception
Jan 6, 2020
Hosted by Diane and Bill Shaw
The Circle of Hope recognizes donors who have contributed $10,000 or more to Catholic Charities in our fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). This unique, annual event is a benefit to our Giving Society members where we thank and honor our most generous supporters.

To mark National Hispanic Heritage Month and celebrate the many contributions of generations of Hispanic Americans, Catholic Charities DC is hosting a virtual program about the Spanish Catholic Center moderated by Bill Kappaz, a member of the Catholic Charities Board of Directors. Join us at noon on Oct. 13 for an insider’s view of the center’s important work and hear from a client about how our job training program took her from jobless to employed.
Join Fr. John and Charles Abell for a special gathering on:
Leaving a Legacy and Paying it Forward Creating a Lasting Impact at Catholic Charities
We’re bringing the party to you! Join Father John Enzler and the Board of Directors in celebrating the work of Catholic Charities at the 2021 gala, being held virtually from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 13.
While the format is different, the goal is the same: to provide the vital funding needed to continue our work in addressing basic human needs — shelter, adequate food, health care, legal representation and mental health services to so many who have nowhere else to turn.
For information on sponsorships and other details, visit the Catholic Charities Gala 2021 page.
We’ve got a spectacular party lineup.
José Andrés, chef and humanitarian, will serve as honorary gala chair. You’ll hear from a few special guests and enjoy entertainment from Maggie Rose, Potomac-born and Nashville-based country vocalist.
To get you into the spirit during your personal gala viewing party, we will offer sponsors delicious take-home food from Ridgewells Catering and wine pairings from Total Wine & More.
There even will be a few surprises, all from the comfort of your home.
We look forward to a fun-filled evening celebrating virtually with you on March 13, 2021.
TENNIS, ANYONE?
After a pause last year because of the pandemic, the Legal Network’s tennis and pickleball tournament is back. We invite you to hit the court in support of the Legal Network.
The Legal Network is a lifeline for many who otherwise would not have access to civil legal services. The tennis and pickleball tournament is one way for the community to celebrate and support the Legal Network’s important work.
The tournament is a virtual experience this year, with registrants playing tennis or pickleball on their own. We encourage you to send us photos of your tennis and pickleball play, as we will recognize participants on social media and in our “Giving Back” newsletter. Show your support of the Legal Network by doing your own social media post, tagging @CCADW and using the hashtag #CCLN.
Thank you for being a part of the supportive Legal Network community.
