Each winter, Catholic Charities collects and distributes over 1,000 winter coats to people in need of a little extra warmth. This is made possible by generous donations from local parishes, schools, community groups, and individuals. Hundreds of these coats are given away at the Coat Closet. Join Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of the Washington in their sixth annual Coats of Many Colors Coat Drive to do just that.

Catholic Charities will host its annual Community Thanksgiving for homeless clients and those in need in the Washington-area. For the fourth year, this festive, full-service dinner will take place in the beautiful Pepco Edison Place Gallery, a space generously donated by Pepco.
More than 200 attendees will enjoy an elegant holiday feast consisting of turkey and all the traditional trimmings prepared by Catholic Charities Enterprises and served by volunteers from Pepco. Guests will also receive winter coats and toiletry kits furnished by Pepco, as well as gift cards to purchase other daily necessities.
This annual celebration will mark the conclusion of Catholic Charities DC’s week-long recognition of the World Day of the Poor, and the start of the holiday giving season. In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, this dinner fosters a sense of community and reminds attendees, volunteers, and staff of the traditions that unite us as Washingtonians.
