Among the most vulnerable living in the Washington region are children and adolescents. We recognize and believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow and learn through a loving childhood, that family is the most important key to success and that it takes a community to raise a child.
Family Preservation
Prince George's County, MD
The Family Preservation Program works with families in crisis who have abused or neglected a child to ensure the child is safe and then work with parents to create a safer and more nurturing home. This service is available to families who have been referred from the Prince George's Department of Family Services.
THRIVE - Catholic Charities' Residential Unit Independent Living Program

For youth in the foster care system, our Independent Living Program provides ongoing case management to help teach life skills integral to self-sufficient living.

Washington, DC and Maryland
For teen parents in the foster care system, our Teen Parent-Independent Living Program provides ongoing case management to help teach life skills integral to self-sufficient living, with a special focus on working with both parent and child.
Pregnancy and Adoptions
For birth parents facing an unintended pregnancy, our Pregnancy and Adoptions Program provides counseling and facilitates adoptions. We also recruit, train and license adoptive parents for infants and children. Sanctuaries for Life helps women facing an unintended pregnancy make a life-affirming decision through a coordinated network of emotional, material and spiritual support throughout pregnancy and beyond.
