Southeast Family Center
Our Family Centers serve as gateways to help for all types of crises and needs. Our Southeast Family Center, located in Ward 7, focuses on keeping families in their homes and working to find employment or other forms of assistance to treat long-term challenges.

♦ Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) - a Federal Government Program
We have funding to assist low-income District residents facing housing emergencies. The program provides funding for overdue rent if a qualified household is facing eviction (including late costs and court fees). The program also support security deposits and first month's rent for residents moving to new apartments.
To qualify for ERAP: Telephone intake occurs the 2nd Monday of each month. Phone lines open at 9 am and we are able to accept the first 60-65 qualified clients. Once qualified, clients will receive an appointment for the following month. Please, no walk-ins! Appointments will be provided following a telephone screening.

Please note: We have a strict appointment time procedure to accommodate our heavy clientele base. Clients, once receiving their appointment date, must arrive on-time. One reschedule will be allowed; failure to do so will result in client be encouraged to repeat the intake process the following month.
♦ ERAP for WRITs
WRITs are the last step of eviction, mailed from the Marshal's office, and are the most urgent of ERAP cases. Walk-in appointments are available on a limited basis Tuesday and Wednesday mornings - due to staff limitations only the first five clients each of those mornings can be seen. Information and Referrals: Do you need help but you are not sure where to go? Navigating a crisis alone is hard. We are a great resource to connect you with help available within Catholic Charities, other nonprofits or the DC government. Call for an appointment with a Family Support Worker.
Please provide childcare during your appointments. We do not have accommodations or space.
