Downtown Family Center
Provides crisis intervention, referrals, support services, Parish support and education to underserved, low-income and/or homeless individuals. Emergency rental assistance is available to families who qualify. The Center is open to residents of Washington, DC in the downtown area. Support funds for women with cancer are also available.
Services offered at this location: Crisis Intervention: Social workers available during set hours to help resolve emergency needs for individuals and families in crisis Referrals: Direction and assistance in getting connected to Catholic Charities' programs, as well as community programs whose services are tailored to meet a specific need that assists families and individualsEducation: Houses adult education including literacy classes, high school equivalency degrees and computer training classesEmergency Rental Assistance: Eligible families may receive assistance meeting rental needs once per yearMcConnville Fund: A special fund set up to provide support to single mothers with cancer living in the District of Columbia or the Maryland Counties of Montgomery, Prince George's, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's. Potential clients must be able to demonstrate financial need.
