Adult education
English, Spanish, other languages; General Equivalency Degree (GED) exam preparation.
Housing/shelters
Day, overnight and emergency shelters for women, men and children; transitional shelters for formerly homeless residents ready to live in the community; referrals for specialized treatment programs for substance abusers, people with mental illness, those with serious health conditions like HIV and hepatitis, victims of domestic violence, and adults with developmental disabilities; child care assistance programs.
Health and dental care
Primary care and specialized services for low-income, uninsured adults and children; community outreach and education about health care access.
Paraprofessional education and certifications
Training and certifications in special education, addictions counseling and parent education.
Vocational training
Building maintenance, job-readiness and computer skills training.
Child care and afterschool care
Afterschool care for elementary school children; child care for infants six weeks through age 4.
Family strengthening programs
Counseling and parent education for families experiencing child abuse or neglect.
Foster care support and transition assistance
Assessment, foster care placement and support for abused and/or neglected children; life skills training and support to help young adults in foster care make a smooth transition from the system at age 21.
Education, training and career development for people with developmental disabilities and their families.
GED preparation, literacy and life skills training; career education, job placement and work transition assistance; vocational training; early intervention pre-school programs; education programs for school aged children and youths between age 6 and 22; after-school and summer recreation programs; respite care for caregivers; specialized in-home and school-based autism support services for children age 5 through 12; independent & community living and support programs; referral to comprehensive community resources; referrals for intensive substance abuse counseling; support for client- and family-supported advocacy networks.
Mental health and substance abuse treatment programs
Referrals for substance abuse treatment and support for low-income men and women, including those with developmental disabilities; employment assistance and job transition support; clinical support for mental illness.
Crisis assistance
Help with food, mortgage/rent and utilities; referrals to additional community resources Health and dental care.
Immigrant, refugee and asylee programs
Volunteer sponsor program to welcome newly arriving refugees; education, job training and placement; direct legal services involving citizenship and residency, asylum, employment and access to social services benefits; emergency food support.
Pregnancy and adoption counseling and placement
Counseling for birthparents on adoption; recruitment, training and licensing of adoptive parents; search and reunion services for adoptees or birthparents.
